The Salling Foundations' donations to Team Denmark
Since 2009, The Salling Foundations, the owner of Salling Group, has supported Team Denmark and Danish athletes with a total of DKK 250 million. Most recently, The Salling Foundations donated DKK 60 million to Team Denmark to support preparations for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
The funds help ensure that all athletes have access to experts in areas such as sports physiology, diet and nutrition, mental health, and more.
At Salling Group, we strive to make Every Day Better and believe in an inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to participate and reach their full potential—whether at work, in sports, or in life. That’s why we are just as proud as our owners of this new donation initiative, and we look forward to continuing to follow all the athletes on their journey to the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
Supporting both Olympic and Paralympic athletes
Starting in 2025, The Salling Foundations' support for Danish Olympic athletes will also extend to Danish para-athletes.
"The Danish para-athletes deliver an incredible effort and performance and truly deserve all the support they can get. We are therefore very pleased that The Salling Foundations' support will now also benefit Danish para-athletes," it was announced.
Most recently, The Salling Foundations donated DKK 60 million to Team Denmark to support athletes leading up to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Moving forward, this support will benefit both Team Denmark athletes and Parasport Denmark athletes.
LA 2028 Summer Olympics
From July 14th to 30th, 2028, the Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles, USA, marking the 34th edition of the Games. Team Denmark is already working on preparations for the 2028 Olympics.
It is important for both the Team Denmark staff and the Danish athletes to have good conditions for looking ahead, including talent development and opportunities for thorough preparation. An athlete's performance can greatly depend on the conditions provided by the host country, such as the climate.
