Head of Group Strategy in Salling Group

Do you want to drive the strategic agenda in one of the largest retailers in the Nordics and play an important role in our ambitious Corporate Strategy Aspire ‘28? Then you might be our new Head of Group Strategy.

The role 
As Head of Group Strategy, you will work closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the Group. You will drive and support execution of our group strategy supported by a strong team of approx. 8 strategists and play an important role in:

  • Driving the strategic agenda and look for new growth avenues
  • Leading high-impact projects across the Group and business units
  • Strategy tracking and reviews
  • Macro, market, competitors and various analyses that provides valuable insights
  • Support on M&A processes (e.g. due diligence processes)
  • Support on Salling Seeds – Salling Group’s Venture Capital arm
  • Lead and support on Post-Merger Integration
  • Acting as a strategic advisor and challenger to top management
  • Deliver high-quality deliverables and presentations for top management and Board of Directors


You will be reporting to Andreas Møballe (SVP, Group Strategy, M&A & Salling Seeds) and be a part of a dynamic team working closely together with M&A & Salling Seeds as well as engage with multiple stakeholders across Salling Group. 

Your profile
To succeed in this role we expect:

  • A master’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or similar
  • Approx.. 7-10 years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or in-house strategy roles within larger organizations
  • Strategic mindset with advanced analytical skills
  • Experience leading a high-performing team
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and comfortable interacting with senior and executive management
  • A curious and results-oriented – thrives in an ever changing environment
  • A proactive mindset, always seeking new challenges and exceeding targets
  • Profound interpersonal skills who acts at all times with the highest level of integrity and honesty

This position is based in Aarhus, Denmark where our team and HQ is located. The role requires the ability to work on-site on a weekly basis. Travelling will be expected, up to 10-30 days per year.
