Consultant for Commercial Development, Salling Group

Do you have a strategic and analytical mindset? Do you possess a proactive and outgoing attitude and thrive in a data-driven decision-making environment? We are now looking for a new talented colleague to be part of our in-house consulting team in Commercial Development.

 

Our Commercial Development team acts as an in-house consultancy dedicated to driving commercial excellence across Salling Group’s buying organization and our three major formats — Netto, føtex, and Bilka. The team provides analytical and strategic support to strengthen our commercial performance, including leading the annual supplier negotiations, supporting key Commercial management projects, and contributing to critical parts of Salling Group’s strategic initiatives. Through this focus on commercial excellence — optimizing our buying processes, supplier collaboration, and value creation — we aim to make a real difference for our customers.

 

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and optimizing customer experience from a data-driven perspective.
  • Communicating insights, results, and recommendations to senior decision-makers
  • Taking part in various key projects and prepare material for Commercial management projects -
  • relating to both range strategy and price strategy for our complex and dynamic buying organization

 

Your skills and background:

  • You have a Master’s degree within business or economics (e.g. cand.oecon, cand.merc, cand.scient or the like). Preferably, you have a couple of years of experience as a consultant or in a similar role, where you have acquired the necessary skills to succeed as a consultant. Alternatively, you compromise your lack of experience by being a top-performer and by having relevant experience in a student job during your studies.
  • As you will interact with many stakeholders in the organization, you must have personal presence and the ability to present your points convincingly. You are curious by nature and possess an eagerness to take on a very steep learning-curve. Finally, you should have a ‘self-starter attitude’ and can independently focus, see opportunities, and invite yourself to the table.
  • Lastly, you are fluent in Danish & English both written and spoken. You also have above-average it-skills – particularly in Excel and PowerPoint – and enjoy working with complex data and problem-solving.
