Intern for Identity & Access Management
Are you looking for an exciting and challenging internship for your next semester? Do you want to gain experience within Retail and be part of a large international company? Now you have the chance to join the Identity & Access Management (IAM) team at Salling Group.
In Identity & Access Management, we work at the intersection of security, compliance, and business – ensuring that the right people have the right access to the right systems. You will be based at our headquarters in Aarhus, alongside passionate and skilled colleagues. We work closely with IT, Security, and HR, so collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We juggle technical deep-dives, compliance requirements, and the occasional nerdy debate. We take security seriously – but always in a supportive and fun atmosphere.
What you will be working on
As an intern in our team, your tasks will include:
- Identity Lifecycle Operations
- Assisting with provisioning and de-provisioning across SaaS and on-premises systems
- Supporting joiner-/mover-/leaver processes (JML) and validating access changes
- Access Reviews & Governance
- Supporting periodic access certifications (collecting data, preparing reports, following up on anomalies)
- Comparing entitlements against role definitions and flagging mismatches
- Helping document and test SoD (Segregation of Duties) rules
- Monitoring & Security
- Monitoring identity-related alerts (suspicious logins, provisioning failures, orphaned accounts)
- Running compliance checks against IAM policies (e.g., privileged account usage)
- Assisting with cleanup activities: stale accounts, unused groups, and over-permissioned roles
- Automation & Tooling
- Supporting automation using PowerShell/Python scripts
- Assisting with testing and updating IAM workflows and integrations
- Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Creating step-by-step guides for IAM processes
- Maintaining system diagrams, entitlement catalogs, and process documentation
- Drafting end-user guides for self-service (e.g., password reset, MFA onboarding)
- Projects & Exposure
- Participating in IAM project work (e.g., role-based access control modeling)
- Testing and documenting new IAM features or integrations before production release
- Shadowing senior IAM engineers in incident response or architecture sessions
Who are you?
- You are currently studying a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- You are curious and eager to learn more about the security side of IT
- You are detail-oriented and able to keep an overview
- You have strong analytical skills and can apply theory to practice
