First to hide tobacco products on the shelves
We are a member of the Smoke-Free Future partnership, which aims to achieve a smoke-free generation of young people by 2030.
In 2018, Salling Group became the first company in Danish retail to hide cigarettes in all our stores across Netto, føtex, Bilka, and Salling Department Stores.
We followed a clear recommendation from the Danish Cancer Society, the Heart Association, and the Danish Medical Association to conceal tobacco in retail—a step towards ensuring that Denmark sees its first smoke-free generation by 2030.
Since Salling Group took the initiative to hide cigarettes in 2018, 116 million fewer cigarettes have been sold in føtex, Netto, and Bilka. In 2021, it became mandatory for all sales outlets to conceal tobacco.
